Hackers for the Resistance:

Connecting artists, developers, creators and more with the heart of the resistance against the Trump administration.

Ok, so.. aren't hackers
bad guys?

What you’re thinking of as the “bad guy” is something some of us older tech folks would call a “cracker”: Someone who maliciously compromises systems, networks, and the like.

A “hacker” is someone who makes creative use of (typically) technology. There have been hackers for longer than anybody reading this has been alive; Some of the most famous dreamers of our scientific history - Einstein, Isaac Newton and Galileo - were all hackers of their time.

We’re hackers in that we hope to leverage modern technology with additional creative skills in order to provide new, fun and effective ways to resist the Trump administration. This is simply done by providing a web platform for folks to coordinate so we can all work together crafting fun and exciting new tools to aid in effective - and legal - protests.

We’re not doing it alone, however, and we want everybody to join in. If you’ve got an idea, share it!

If you’ve got expertise needed, share it!

If you’ve got the tools? Share them!

Success comes from all of us working together, and Hackers for the Resistance is designed to provide a simple way to coordinate.

What’s with the 3 arrows?

In Germany, just before World War II and as fascism was rising into power, there was an organization that stood against Hitler and his ideology. They were called the Iron Front, and they were the first “ANTIFA”, so to speak. Their flag included the 3 arrows; We just adapted it for our modern approach to resisting fascism.

3 arrows pointing down and to the left; they are composed of dots, rather than being solid shapes.

Ready to get started?

We’ll be glad to have you! First, off, however, you need to read the rules.

Ok, but..
What does H4TR "do"?

We Resist fascism, hate, and everything this man represents.

..And we find clever ways of doing it.

As an example, we have DJTSays.com - a website that has documented and cited the literal words spoken by this man. Words that - were they to be said by anybody NOT appealing to far-right idealogs - would incite a rather intense response universally.

We work together to solve problems.

Sometimes, you’ve only got part of the solution: An idea or the ability to implement one.. But you need help.

This space was established to help connect folks who can help each other to foment a resistance. Digital partisans, all, we are more powerful together.

we plan for a better future.

Beyond the direct actions we take against fascism, we’re also here to help secure positions in the government for people who actually care and want to support their constituents. Activism requires not just that we remove the rot inside, but put something better in it’s place.

That's basically what we're about.

Hopefully that's enough to get you interested; We're still in the early phase of building this up, but if you want to jump in early you can join the temporary forums now and start sharing your ideas.

If nothing else, hopefully you'll find some information useful that we share in helping you resist the Trump administration yourself.. But remember: We're stronger together!

Finally, I hope you'll share this with your friends and family and help grow the Hackers for the Resistance community. We're just getting started, and have years of work ahead of us. We're here for the long haul!
